It felt like being hit with a metaphorical bat deep inside my soul. Ever felt a big BAM and out of nowhere you experience being smacked with an inspiration the likes of which you’ve never experienced before in your life?

The sound of this magical calling was deafening. But I could not turn away and had to listen.

The giving voice in my mind said, You will learn from all that you are about to do.

What the heck do you do with such energy filling your mind and spirit?

Answer the Call!

Are you willing to answer?

Your Life will Change you know!

My inspirational story and the start of Rhythm For You.

When something calls out to you and you refuse to answer, you may feel regret sometime in the future. A great friend of mine shared with me in a past time of need for help that sometimes, if not all the time regret brings tears.

Ever regret not doing something you always wanted to do? Now, I am not saying this happens to everyone, but for some people, the calling is so strong and therefore it cannot be refused and will not and can never manifest regret > As long as the call is answered.

Once you see the vision and all of the ideas that flow into you, all of a sudden you become awakened to a life you have never lived and a new journey enters into the moment and in the moment of life you are currently are living.

After reading much about spiritual life and being fulfilled until your end of days, which we all have in our path, I have learned much and moved much closer to who I am as a person inside and out of my own skin. Learned to shed the egoic lens and live from the heart. Part of this growth came from looking inward and focusing on healing inside and struggling past the past.

On Sept 2 of 2018 a calling came to me. It was inspiring and spiritually led. When I felt the call, I did not truly know what it was about until I stopped and reflected. The “pointiness” of what I was feeling and experiencing was like being submerged underwater and still being able to breathe and seeing the dark side of the moon.

Ever been in the moment and had a moment when you take the time to sense and feel something over and over? Maybe you were filled with caring, loving, warm, healthy, and healing emotions that are so focused you cannot get them out of your head?

There are and will forever be the loving and warm feelings that give you a sense of value in life you have never felt before and they keep repeating and resonating inside of you. Ever felt those? That my friends would be how the calling became a light inside of me.

Then the question becomes, Todd what the heck will do you do with it?

I jumped in with my heart NOT my head. In tow I had my caring ways, big heart, optimism, smile, willingness to serve others, love of science (yes I am a nerd!) and this love of hand drumming and then “Voila” began to manifest the vision quest for Rhythm for You!

Within 2 weeks I had researched how to create a nonprofit and fell in and out of material and documents, bylaws, setting up a board of directors and things I knew nothing about, head down and determined. Felt a bit intimidated with all the dealings with the State and Federal government, but I grew from all I experienced.

Growth is about expanding the mind even when you see no alternative, the one that has the most clarity is always for some mysterious reason simply in plain view. We look to hard, and when we do, we sometimes convince ourselves that we are incapable of doing something.
A great quote that a friend I care for and love dearly shared with me that stays with me each day.

“There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.”
Leonard Cohen

On Sept 15th 2018, I had filled my shoulders high with must do things to get this calling off the ground:

  1. Assembled a board of directors
  2. Write bylaws ready for ratification, hold first board meeting
  3. Create articles of formation, submitted to State of Texas
  4. Manifest a name and a logo, it just popped into me
  5. Create draft marketing materials which flowed into me
  6. Look forward and created a ten-year vision and 3 year operating and business plan
  7. Research the state of Texas for all 3 of the communities we will serve create 5 databases for use in our outreach
  8. Prepare, schedule and presentation for Rhythm for You at the Kauffman Foundation’s 1 Million Cups of Fort Worth (thank you Jaide Flynn, and all of the support from 1 Million Cups)

I could pile on more, but I sure by now you got the picture.

Felt like I was shot out of a cannon.

On October 29 I called the IRS to find out about our Tax Exempt Status. The answer I received was Mr. McCann on Oct 26th your case was closed and Rhythm for You was determined to fulfill the requirements for a domestic nonprofit.

My smile filled the room I was sitting in and the start of something special has come to be.

I am off to help and serve others using my God given gifts and led by a passion of service.

If you would like to help us out, please send me an email and I would be more than happy to connect with you.
